Laxman Aelay
Born in 1964 Laxman graduated in Painting from the College of Fine Arts JNTU, Hyderabad. He has had solo and group shows in Hyderabad and represented India in an International Exposition organized by TANA in Chicago USA. He was a signboard painter and designer/illustrator of books before he became a professional artiste.
 
The inspiration for his works has been the poverty stricken people from his village in A.P. Recently he switched from using black, white and gray to vivid colours to depict flowers, jewellery and clothing. He has also started working on smaller canvases.
 
Laxman has received International recognition and awards and gold medals including an award from the Hyderabad Art Society.
