Yasula Balaiah
Born in 1939, Balaiah did his Masters in Art and B.Ed in drawing and Painting. He retired as a teacher and went into professional painting. He has participated in many group and one man shows all over the country and his works are displayed in Los Angeles Museum, Salarjung Museum, A.P. State Museum, A.P.State Lalit Kala Academy, Central Lalit Kala Academy, Regional Centre Chenna, APTDC, and in many private collections in India and abroad.
 
He has won All India Art Competition Hyderabad Art Society, All India Art Competition Kanaseema-Chitrakala Parishad Amalapuram, and has been honored as a 'Veteran Artist' by the AIFACS, New Delhi.

Balaiah is a self taught painter and his name became synonymous with Batik in the state of A.P. He was popularly known as Batik Balaiah. He is also known for his delightful paintings of Telangana Women and rural landscapes in different media.
